The Wonders of Photography—A Resource for Contemporary Photographers

The Wonders of Photography—A Resource for Contemporary Photographers is our newest, and at almost 500 pages, our longest title. As one reviewer said "it’s an entire course with everything student’s need to understand not only the techniques of photography but also its history as a fine art."

Using Your Digital Camera 5th Edition—A Guide to Great Photographs

Using Your Digital Camera at 132 pages is our shortest book. It focuses on the key concepts and procedures of photography—those things you need to capture creative images. Until the digital era arrived, photographers had only a few creative controls to work with—focus, aperture, shutter speed, film speed and flash. It’s on these classic controls, used to capture most of the great photographs in the history of photography, that this book focuses. It also covers all of the modern enhancements to these techniques such as AEB, exposure compensation, autofocus, multiple focus areas and so on. This is the ideal text for short courses or when activities, such as design or photo editing take up a large portion of the course.

The Textbook of Digital Photography 3rd edition

The Textbook of Digital Photography, at 250 pages, is a comprehensive text based on Using Your Digital Camera but with additional chapters on displaying and sharing photos on-screen, displaying and sharing printed photos, and moving beyond the still image. The later chapter includes discussions of panoramic and stereo photographs, animations and movies, morphing, lenticular prints, flip books, photographing in B&W and infrared, night vision and pin hole photography.

PhotoCourse 2nd edition—An Interactive Multimedia eText

PhotoCourse has almost the same coverage as The Textbook Of Digital Photography but uses a visual approach supported by many animations and other learning resources. It was written with the thought in mind “that no one ever took a photography course to read”. This is the first textbook designed to appeal to visually oriented students, with text and illustration designed to be read on the computer screen or projected for a class.
